THE GOOSE IS LOOSE!!! The first Wild Goose Uprising was a huge success!
Thanks to the gracious and generous support of Wild Goose friends and family and Abingdon Presbytery churches as near as Dinwiddie and as far away as Tazewell and Bristol, our kick-off worship service was beyond our expectations and more fun than we could’ve dreamed possible. We enjoyed a wonderful meal in the picnic pavilion, followed by communion (in Mason jars!). We then moved inside for a fireside rocking-chair worship in the round, and finished the evening with a theologically significant square dance. Live music was provided by the well-known pencil artist and songwriter, Willard Gayheart, the great Floyd County old-time duet, Mac and Jenny Traynham, and former Bill Monroe Bluegrass Boy, Butch Robins. It was a blessed night to remember!
